Request informationA trip for lovers of wine and good food. It starts in Mendoza, the capital of Malbec: a cooking class at Bodegas Zuccardi and a day in the Valle de Uco, where the vines climb above a thousand metres with the Andes in the background.
Then the north-west, with Salta and the Quebrada de Humahuaca, an Andean valley and UNESCO site with striped, many-coloured mountains. From Salta you head down through the desert gorges of the Quebrada de las Conchas to Cafayate, home of Torrontés, the aromatic white of the high-altitude vineyards.
It ends in Buenos Aires, with a city tour and an evening devoted to Argentine wine.

9 days in the programme
The wine capital. Arrival in Mendoza and transfer to the hotel. Free time along the tree-lined avenues and Plaza Independencia, with the Andes on the horizon.
A cooking class at a winery. A day devoted to Argentine cooking, with a class at Bodegas Zuccardi, one of Mendoza's best-known family wineries, among vineyards and traditional dishes. The rest of the day at leisure in town.
Vineyards at the foot of the Andes. An excursion to the Valle de Uco, one of the country's highest wine regions, among wineries and Malbec vineyards, with snow-capped peaks in the background. Return to Mendoza.
To the north-west. Transfer to the airport and flight to Salta. Transfer to the hotel and free time in the colonial centre, around Plaza 9 de Julio, the cathedral and the church of San Francisco.
The coloured mountains. An excursion to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, an Andean valley and UNESCO site: Purmamarca, beneath the Cerro de los Siete Colores, and Tilcara, with its pre-Columbian fortress. Return to Salta.
Desert gorges and Torrontés. The route crosses the Quebrada de las Conchas, among red rock gorges, dunes and wind-carved formations, to Cafayate. Time among the high-altitude vineyards where Torrontés is made.
To the capital. Return to Salta and flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to the hotel.
City tour and Wine Experience. A city tour: Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, San Telmo, the colourful houses of La Boca and the avenues of Recoleta. In the evening, the Wine Experience, devoted to Argentine wine.
End of the trip. A free morning, then transfer to the airport.
