This circular itinerary is dedicated to discovering North Holland, a land of sprawling tulip fields, iconic windmills, and historic territories reclaimed from the sea. The journey begins in Alkmaar, famous for its traditional cheese market, and winds through the verdant meadows of the Dutch countryside before reaching the historic canals of Amsterdam and the charming towns of Hoorn and Medemblik.
The experience is further enriched by exploring the polders, stretches of sea artificially transformed into fertile farmland, and a tour of Texel. As the largest of the Wadden Islands, Texel is home to the De Slufter nature reserve, a unique landscape sculpted by the relentless action of the wind and tides.
The route consists of daily stages ranging from 49 to 66 km, cycled almost entirely on flat, dedicated cycle paths. The trip includes luggage transfers between hotels and an initial briefing, ensuring complete independence with the support of a dedicated navigation app.

The itinerary continues for 49 km towards Medemblik The itinerary continues for 49 km towards Medemblik. Along the way, you will cross a polder, a testament to Dutch hydraulic engineering where the sea was drained and desalinated to create new agricultural land.
Today’s 66 km stage heads towards the northern tip of the peninsula to reach the port city of Den Helder, the gateway to the northern islands.
