Request informationA road trip along one of Australia's wildest coastlines. From Perth you head north to Shark Bay, a UNESCO site, where at Monkey Mia dolphins come close to shore and the stromatolites of Hamelin Pool tell the story of the first life on Earth.
At Coral Bay the Ningaloo reef starts a few metres from the beach: you snorkel straight from the shore and, in season, swim with whale sharks and manta rays. Heading south you pass Carnarvon, the red gorges of Kalbarri National Park, with Nature's Window and the skywalks, and finally the Pinnacles Desert at Cervantes.

10 days in the programme
Setting off. Arrival in Perth, car pick-up and drive north to Geraldton.
To the bay. Drive to Shark Bay, with stops at the Hamelin Pool stromatolites and Shell Beach, made entirely of shells.
The dolphins of Monkey Mia. In the morning, the dolphins that come close to shore at Monkey Mia. An optional cruise among dugongs, turtles and dolphins.
To Ningaloo. A long drive north to Coral Bay, on the Ningaloo reef.
Snorkelling from the beach. A day on the Ningaloo reef: snorkelling from the shore or a boat trip with manta rays and, in season, whale sharks.
Plantations and ocean. Drive south to Carnarvon, among banana plantations and the ocean.
The red gorges. Drive to Kalbarri, at the mouth of the Murchison River.
The national park. A day in Kalbarri National Park: Nature's Window, the skywalks over the gorges and the ocean cliffs.
To the Pinnacles. Drive south along the coast to Cervantes. At sunset, the Pinnacles Desert.
End of the trip. Return to Perth and car drop-off.
