Request informationA road trip through the three Baltic countries, from north to south. It starts in Tallinn, with the walls and towers of its old town, then heads down the Estonian coast: the flooded quarry of Rummu, the wooden houses of Haapsalu and the seaside town of Pärnu.
In Latvia, the Gauja valley with its castles, and Riga, between its Gothic centre and Art Nouveau buildings. Further south, baroque Rundale Palace, still in Latvia, and the Hill of Crosses, just over the border in Lithuania.
Then the dunes of the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO site, Kaunas, the open-air museum of Rumšiškės and Vilnius, with the island castle of Trakai.

The capital of Estonia. Arrival in Tallinn and check-in at the hotel. A first walk through the old town, among walls, towers and Town Hall Square.
Old town and Kadriorg. A three-hour Italian-speaking walking tour of the medieval centre, between the lower town and Toompea hill. In the afternoon, an optional visit to Kadriorg palace and park.
Along the Estonian coast. Car pick-up and departure south-west. A stop at Rummu, with its flooded quarry and the remains of the old prison, and at Haapsalu, with its bishop's castle and wooden houses. Arrival in Pärnu, a seaside town.
Gauja National Park. Into Latvia and a stop in Gauja National Park, with its river valley, sandstone caves and the castles of Sigulda and Turaida. On to Riga.
Gothic and Art Nouveau. A three-hour Italian-speaking walking tour of the historic centre, a UNESCO site, and the Art Nouveau district. A free afternoon, perhaps at the Central Market.
Rundale and the Hill of Crosses. A stop at Rundale Palace, a baroque residence with French-style gardens. Into Lithuania and a visit to the Hill of Crosses, then arrival in Klaipėda, on the Baltic.
The Curonian Spit. Ferry to the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO site: towering dunes, pine forests and fishing villages such as Nida. In the afternoon, a drive to Kaunas.
The Rumšiškės museum. A morning in Kaunas, between the castle and the old town. A stop at the Rumšiškės open-air ethnographic museum, with farmhouses from all over Lithuania, and arrival in Vilnius.
The capital and the lake castle. A three-hour Italian-speaking walking tour of Vilnius's baroque centre. In the afternoon, a drive to Trakai, with its castle on an island in Lake Galvė.
End of the trip. Free time in Vilnius, car drop-off and flight home.
