Request informationA cycling tour designed for families, on the cycle paths of the Gironde. It starts in Arcachon, a seaside town with beaches and period villas, and rides to the Dune of Pyla, the highest in Europe, with views over the whole bay.
Then Le Teich and the Eyre delta reserve, along country lanes, small oyster harbours and old railway lines turned into cycle paths. From Arès you explore the dunes and beaches on the ocean, and on the last day you return to Arcachon by ferry from Cap Ferret.
Stages of 23 to 35 km, almost all flat, with loop days to ride without luggage.

7 days in the programme
Welcome to the bay. Independent arrival in Arcachon and check-in at the hotel. Free time between the beach, the seafront and the villas of the Ville d'Hiver.
A loop of about 25 km. A loop ride to the Dune of Pyla, the highest in Europe: from the top you can see the bay, the Banc d'Arguin and the ocean. Return to Arcachon.
About 23 km. A ride along the southern shore of the bay, past harbours and villages on the lagoon, to Le Teich.
A loop of about 25 km. A day in the Eyre delta reserve, on country lanes and old railway lines turned into cycle paths, past small harbours and wetlands full of birds. Return to Le Teich.
About 35 km. The longest stage heads north along the eastern shore of the bay, through oyster-farming villages, to Arès.
A loop of about 25 km. A loop ride through the pine forest and the dunes, to the ocean beaches. Return to Arès.
24 to 35 km. The last stage along the Cap Ferret peninsula and the ferry to Arcachon, where the tour ends.
