Request informationMadrid is easy to explore on foot and comes alive in the evening. You start in the Malasaña, Huertas and Chueca districts, where the Movida was born in the 1980s, and end the day on the rooftop terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, with the city at your feet.
The second day is for monumental Madrid: the Prado Museum, with Velázquez, Goya and El Greco, and the Royal Palace. Then tapas, perhaps with a local expert, between the Mercado de San Miguel and neighbourhood markets such as San Antón.
A full day is devoted to Castile: the Roman aqueduct and the Alcázar of Segovia, the medieval walls of Ávila and Toledo, the city of three cultures. The rest is up to you: the Royal Collections, El Escorial, the Bernabéu stadium or an evening of flamenco.

The Movida districts. Arrival in Madrid and check-in at the hotel. A first stroll through Malasaña, Huertas and Chueca, the Movida districts, and at sunset the Círculo de Bellas Artes rooftop, with views over the city's roofs.
The Prado, the Royal Palace and tapas. A day devoted to monumental Madrid: the Prado Museum, with Velázquez, Goya and El Greco, the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor. An optional tapas tour with a local expert, between the Mercado de San Miguel and neighbourhood markets such as San Antón and La Paz.
Three cities of Castile. A full day outside Madrid. In Segovia the Roman aqueduct and the Alcázar, in Ávila the almost intact medieval walls, in Toledo the cathedral and the lanes of the city of three cultures, Christian, Jewish and Muslim. Back in Madrid in the evening.
Last hours in the city. Free time depending on your interests and flight time: the Royal Collections, the El Escorial monastery or the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. End of the trip.
