Request informationThe Maltese archipelago in a week, with time to see it properly. In Valletta, the fortified capital of the Knights of St John, you visit St John's Co-Cathedral, with its Caravaggio paintings, and The Malta Experience, a multimedia show on the island's long history.
Then Mdina, the old capital, silent within its walls, and the Three Cities on the Grand Harbour, also seen from the water on a traditional boat. One day is for Gozo, the sister island, greener and quieter, reached by ferry.
The south offers the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim, older than the pyramids, the Blue Grotto and Marsaxlokk, with its colourful fishing boats. The last full day is free.

Welcome to the island. Arrival at Malta airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
The city of the Knights. A day with your guide in the capital: St John's Co-Cathedral, with its Caravaggio paintings, the Barrakka Gardens overlooking the Grand Harbour and The Malta Experience multimedia show.
The old capital. A visit to Mdina, the silent city, among medieval lanes, noble palaces and the bastions with views over much of the island.
Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua. A visit to the Three Cities, across the Grand Harbour from Valletta, where the Knights first settled. A traditional boat trip in Vittoriosa harbour.
The sister island. Ferry to Gozo and a day on the island, greener and more rural than Malta: the Citadel in Victoria, the villages and the coastal cliffs.
Temples and fishermen. The megalithic temples of Hagar Qim, a UNESCO site, and the Blue Grotto, with an optional boat trip. Then Marsaxlokk, with its colourful fishing boats, and the Cave of Darkness, Għar Dalam, with its prehistoric remains.
A free day. A free day for the sea, a stroll in Sliema or another visit to Valletta.
End of the trip. Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
