Request informationThe complete tour of Romania, from Bucharest to the remote regions of the north. After the capital and the monastery of Curtea de Argeș you enter Transylvania: Sibiu with its Saxon squares, the Gothic Corvin castle at Hunedoara, the citadel of Alba Iulia and the Turda salt mine.
Further north lies Maramureș, a rural region of villages with carved wooden gates and wooden churches with soaring steeples, a UNESCO site. From Bistrița you reach the monasteries of Bucovina, with frescoes on their outer walls.
The way back takes in Sighișoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, Brașov, Bran Castle and Peleș Castle at Sinaia.

9 days in the programme
The capital. Arrival in Bucharest, meeting with your driver-guide and transfer to the hotel. Dinner.
Bucharest and Curtea de Argeș. A tour of Bucharest: the old town, the Patriarchal Cathedral and the Palace of Parliament. Then towards the Carpathians, with a stop at the monastery of Curtea de Argeș, and arrival in Râmnicu Vâlcea.
Sibiu and Hunedoara. Cozia monastery, in the Olt valley, then Sibiu, with its squares and houses whose roofs have eyes. In the afternoon, Corvin Castle at Hunedoara and arrival in Alba Iulia.
Turda and Cluj. The citadel of Alba Iulia, then the Turda salt mine, with its vast underground halls. A stop in Cluj-Napoca and on north to Sighetu Marmației.
Villages and wooden churches. A day among the villages of Maramureș, with their carved wooden gates and UNESCO-listed wooden churches. An optional stop at the Merry Cemetery of Săpânța. Arrival in Bistrița.
Frescoes in the open air. An excursion to Bucovina for the painted monasteries, with frescoes on their outer walls, such as Voroneț and Moldovița. Return to Bistrița.
Sighișoara. Back into Transylvania and a visit to Sighișoara, a fortified town with its Clock Tower and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Arrival in Brașov.
Bran and Sinaia. The centre of Brașov, then Bran Castle, linked to the Dracula legend, and Peleș Castle at Sinaia. Return to Bucharest and a farewell dinner.
End of the trip. Free time until your airport transfer.
