Request informationTasmania, the wild island south of Australia, among national parks and surprisingly good food. From Hobart you cross the Mount Field forests, with Russell Falls, to Strahan, on the west coast, gateway to the Gordon River and its rainforests.
In Cradle Mountain National Park you walk around Dove Lake among wombats and, at dusk, may see Tasmanian devils. Then Launceston, with Cataract Gorge and the vineyards of the Tamar Valley, famous for Pinot Noir and sparkling wines.
On the east coast, Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay, with a guided tour among pink granite mountains and wildlife. It ends on Bruny Island, among oysters, cheeses and honey.

The colonial capital. Arrival in Hobart and car pick-up. An evening at Salamanca Place, with Tasmanian scallops on the waterfront.
To the west coast. Through Mount Field National Park, with Russell Falls, and along the Lyell Highway past forests and alpine lakes to Strahan.
The Gordon River. A free day. Ideal for the optional Gordon River cruise, among rainforests, and a sunset walk on Ocean Beach.
The granite peaks. Via Queenstown and its lunar landscapes, you climb to Cradle Mountain National Park.
Dove Lake. A day in the park: the trail around Dove Lake, the wombats and, at dusk, the Tasmanian devil sanctuary.
Murals and countryside. A stop in Sheffield, the town of murals, and arrival in Launceston.
The gorge and the vineyard. Morning at Cataract Gorge, afternoon among the wineries of the Tamar Valley, with Pinot Noir and sparkling wines.
To the east coast. Drive to the east coast and the Swansea and Freycinet area.
Pink granite and wildlife. A guided tour of Freycinet National Park, among pink granite mountains, Wineglass Bay and local wildlife, with lunch.
The village of Richmond. Return towards Hobart with a stop in Richmond, with the oldest stone bridge in Australia.
Oysters and cheese. By ferry to Bruny Island, among cliffs, freshly shucked oysters, honey and cheese. Return to Hobart for departure.
