Request informationThe Wild Atlantic Way is the road that follows Ireland's west coast, and it is made to be driven slowly, stopping wherever you like. From Dublin you cross the island to Galway, the gateway to Connemara, with its lakes, bogs and Kylemore Abbey.
Then south along the Black Head road, across the Burren to the Cliffs of Moher. In Kerry you choose between the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, before moving on to Cork and returning to Dublin through the interior.
Self-drive trip: 7 nights with Irish breakfast in B&Bs, 3-4 star hotels and a manor house; a rental car can be added on request.
8 days in the programme
The capital. Arrival in Dublin and check-in. Time for a first walk around Trinity College, Temple Bar and the pubs of the centre.
Towards the Atlantic. Car pick-up and a drive west across the island to Galway, a lively harbour town, with its pedestrian streets and music in the pubs.
Lakes, bogs and mountains. A day in Connemara: the coast road, Clifden and the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey on its lake. Back to the Galway area.
The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. South along the Black Head coast road, across the limestone landscape of the Burren, to the Cliffs of Moher. On to County Kerry.
Dingle or the Ring of Kerry. A day to choose between the Dingle Peninsula, with the scenic Slea Head drive, and the Ring of Kerry, the loop around the Iveragh Peninsula between ocean and mountains.
Towards the south coast. Across the south-west, between Atlantic shores and farmland, to Cork, the second city of the Republic of Ireland, with its covered English Market.
Through the interior. Return to Dublin through the interior; on the way you can stop at the Rock of Cashel or Kilkenny. Car drop-off in Dublin.
End of the trip. A last Irish breakfast and departure from Dublin.
