Request informationThe United States from one ocean to the other. It starts with four days in New York, between Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and Central Park, then you fly to Los Angeles to pick up your car: Hollywood, Venice Beach and sunset from Griffith Observatory.
From here the road trip begins. Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, Route 66 at Kingman, Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend at Page, Arches and Canyonlands around Moab, the spires of Bryce Canyon. After two nights in Las Vegas you cross the Sierra Nevada to Yosemite and arrive in San Francisco.
Each stop can be lengthened or shortened to suit your pace.

16 days in the programme
Welcome to New York. Arrival in New York and check-in at the hotel. A first walk around Times Square, among the neon signs and Broadway theatres.
Midtown and Central Park. A day around Midtown, Fifth Avenue and Central Park, with the view from the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center.
Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan. Brooklyn Bridge on foot, Wall Street and the 9/11 Memorial. Optionally, the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.
Museums and neighbourhoods. A free day among the museums, such as the Met and MoMA, and the neighbourhoods of Greenwich Village, SoHo and the High Line.
To the West Coast. Flight to Los Angeles and rental car pick-up. At sunset, Griffith Observatory, with views over the city and the Hollywood sign.
Hollywood and the ocean. A day between the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Universal Studios and the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach.
The desert and Joshua Tree. Drive to Palm Springs, a desert oasis with its 1950s modernist houses. An excursion into Joshua Tree National Park, among granite boulders and the trees that give the park its name.
Route 66. Across the Mojave Desert to Kingman, Arizona, on historic Route 66, among old diners, vintage gas stations and small museums.
Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Drive to Page, on Lake Powell. A visit to Antelope Canyon, a narrow slot carved by water into the sandstone, and the Horseshoe Bend overlook above a loop of the Colorado River.
Arches and Canyonlands. Drive into Utah, with the option of passing through Monument Valley. Arrival in Moab, the base for Arches, with its natural rock arches, and Canyonlands, with the canyons carved by the Colorado and Green rivers.
Rock spires. Drive across the Utah plateaus to Bryce Canyon, an amphitheatre of red and orange rock spires, the hoodoos, which change colour at sunrise and sunset.
To Nevada. Drive to Las Vegas, with the option of crossing Zion National Park. In the evening, the Strip, with its casinos and shows.
Red Rock Canyon. A free day. A short drive from the city, Red Rock Canyon, with its red rocks and a scenic loop road. In the evening, a show.
Waterfalls and sequoias. A long day's drive into California and the Sierra Nevada, to Yosemite National Park, with its waterfalls, giant sequoias and the granite walls of El Capitan and Half Dome.
The bay. A morning in Yosemite Valley, then drive to San Francisco. Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 with its sea lions and the Golden Gate Bridge.
End of the trip. Last hours between Chinatown and Haight-Ashbury, the 1960s neighbourhood. Car drop-off and departure.
