Request informationEastern Canada without driving. It starts in Toronto, the country's largest city, with the CN Tower and its multicultural neighbourhoods, and a day at Niagara Falls, with the boat that takes you right up to the falls.
Then you board VIA Rail's Corridor trains: Ottawa, the capital, with Parliament and the Rideau Canal; Quebec City, the only walled city in North America north of Mexico, with its Upper and Lower Town; and Montreal, French-speaking and cosmopolitan, with Old Montreal and Notre-Dame Basilica. Out of the window, forests, farms and the St Lawrence valley.
An independent trip by train, with hotels, sightseeing tours and the Niagara excursion included.
10 days in the programme
Welcome to Canada. Arrival in Toronto and check-in at the hotel. Free time among the city's neighbourhoods and markets, such as St. Lawrence Market.
The city and the CN Tower. A two-hour sightseeing tour of downtown, the waterfront and Toronto's neighbourhoods. A visit to the CN Tower, with views over Lake Ontario.
Right up to the falls. A day trip to Niagara Falls, with lunch. By Hornblower boat to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls. Return to Toronto.
By train to the capital. VIA Rail train to Ottawa, along the shore of Lake Ontario and then through forests and farmland. Check-in at the hotel.
The capital. A two-hour sightseeing tour: Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and ByWard Market. In winter, entry to the Canadian Museum of History instead.
Into French Canada. VIA Rail train to Quebec City, in the St Lawrence valley. Check-in at the hotel and a first walk in the old town.
The walled city. A two-hour sightseeing tour of the Upper Town, with its walls and the Château Frontenac, and the Lower Town, with Place Royale and Rue du Petit-Champlain.
To the big city. VIA Rail train to Montreal and check-in at the hotel. Free time in Old Montreal.
History and neighbourhoods. A three-hour sightseeing tour: Old Montreal, Notre-Dame Basilica, the Latin Quarter and Mount Royal. In winter, entry to the Grévin Museum instead.
End of the trip. VIA Rail train to Toronto. End of the trip, with the option of continuing to the airport.
