Request informationBerenice lies at the far south of Egypt's coast, beyond Marsa Alam, where the desert meets the first acacias and mass tourism has never arrived. Off Lahami Bay the reef is intact, and the dive centres work with few boats and great respect for the environment.
Days follow the rhythm of the dives: coastal reefs, pinnacles and offshore shoals, with a good chance of meeting turtles, dolphins and reef sharks. Nearby is Wadi el Gemal National Park, with its mangroves and the mountains of the Eastern Desert.
This is a trip for people who love the sea and silence, not nightlife. We can put together your dive package based on your certification and how many dives you want.
8 days in the programme
From the airport to Egypt's far south. Arrival in Egypt and transfer to Berenice, along the coast road between desert and sea. Check in and a first evening on the bay.
First dives and equipment check. First day of diving, with a check-out dive on the reefs off the coast to get used to your equipment and the dive centre.
Offshore pinnacles and corals. Dives on the shoals and pinnacles off Lahami Bay, where hard and soft corals are in excellent condition and schools of fish are dense.
Dives in the protected area. A day of diving in the Wadi el Gemal National Park area, one of the best-protected stretches of the Red Sea, with a good chance of seeing turtles.
A morning dive and a free afternoon. A morning dive and a free afternoon on the pale sand beaches, among dunes, palms and mangroves.
The final dives before going home. The last dives of the trip. For safety, your final dive should be at least 24 hours before your flight home.
Relaxing or a desert excursion. A free day. You can take an excursion into Wadi el Gemal, among mountains, acacias and gazelles, or simply enjoy the calm of the bay.
Airport transfer and flight home. Transfer to the airport and flight home.
