Request informationThe Seychelles for first-timers. You start on Mahé, the largest island, with three nights at a beachfront hotel and a day with a private local guide around Victoria, the forested interior, the beaches and Creole culture.
Then the ferry to Praslin, where you spend four nights. You visit the Vallée de Mai, the UNESCO-protected palm forest where the coco de mer grows, and Anse Lazio, with its granite boulders. One day is all yours, or for a boat trip to Curieuse. On the last full day you take the ferry to La Digue, ride around it by bicycle and reach Anse Source d'Argent.
The trip includes flights from Italy, seven nights in 4-star beachfront hotels, ferries, transfers, the day around Mahé with a private guide and the visit to the Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio. We choose the hotels and meal plan together.

Departure from Italy on a flight to Mahé, with a stopover. Meals and overnight on board.
Arrival at Seychelles International Airport, on the east coast of Mahé, and entry formalities. Transfer to the 4-star beachfront hotel and check-in. Mahé is the largest island in the archipelago, with forested granite mountains running down to the coast and dozens of beaches, from small coves among the rocks to long stretches of sand. The rest of the day is free, to rest after the flight, have a first swim and spend the first evening at a slow pace.
A day around the island with a private local guide. It usually starts in Victoria, the small, colourful capital, with its clock tower, the covered market with fish, spices and tropical fruit, and the Hindu temple with its decorated façade. Then the mountain road climbs into the forest of Morne Seychellois, the national park covering the centre of the island, with views over the ocean. Along the coast there are stops at the finest beaches, and the guide talks about Creole culture, from food to music and language. Back to the hotel.
Free day. Two optional ideas, to be booked separately. The first is a boat trip in the Sainte Anne marine park, a group of small islands just off Victoria, with snorkelling among coral and tropical fish. The second is a walk on one of the Morne Seychellois trails, in the forest of the interior, with views from above over the coast and the nearby islands. If you prefer the sea, stay on the beach or go back to one of the coves you saw the day before with the guide.
Transfer to Victoria harbour and ferry to Praslin, about an hour's crossing to the north-east. On arrival, transfer to the 4-star beachfront hotel and check-in for the next four nights. Praslin is the second largest island in the Seychelles, smaller and quieter than Mahé, with green hills, roads with little traffic and long, sheltered beaches. The afternoon is free, for a first swim and a walk on the beach at sunset.
A day devoted to Praslin's two best-known places. First the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO-protected nature reserve, a palm forest where the coco de mer grows, the palm that produces the largest and heaviest seed in the world. Along the shady trails you can hear the call of the black parrot, found almost only on Praslin. Then on north to Anse Lazio, a beach of pale sand framed by large granite boulders, with calm, clear water. The rest of the time is for swimming and lying in the sun.
Free day. If you like, you can book separately the boat trip to Curieuse and the surrounding marine park, shared with other travellers. Curieuse is a small island north of Praslin, where giant tortoises roam free and a boardwalk crosses the mangroves. In the waters of the marine park you snorkel among coral and tropical fish. Alternatively, a slow day on Praslin's beaches, such as Côte d'Or on the east coast, long and shallow, and a Creole dinner by the sea.
A short ferry crossing from Praslin to La Digue, the smallest of the three islands, where people mostly get around by bicycle and cars are few. You ride at an easy pace along quiet roads, past Creole houses, gardens and the village of La Passe, near the harbour. The main stop is Anse Source d'Argent, in the L'Union estate, with large pink granite rocks smoothed by the sea and a shallow, clear lagoon, to enjoy without hurrying. In the afternoon, ferry back to Praslin and a last evening on the island.
Last morning on Praslin. Depending on the flight time, there is time for a last swim or a walk on the beach. Transfer to the harbour and ferry to Mahé, about an hour's crossing with granite islands in view along the way. From Victoria harbour, short transfer to the international airport, on the same east coast, and flight back to Italy, with a stopover. Meals and overnight on board.
Arrival in Italy and end of the trip.
