Request informationA loop by road from Anchorage, at your own pace. You head south on the Seward Highway, between the mountains and the Turnagain Arm inlet, to Seward, on the Kenai Peninsula. Here a full day is set aside for the fjords: by boat in Kenai Fjords National Park you see glaciers reaching the sea, whales, orcas and sea lions.
Then north to Talkeetna, a small village from where, on clear days, you see Denali, the highest mountain in North America. Two nights at Denali National Park, with a bus tour along the park road in search of grizzlies, moose, caribou and Dall sheep.

8 days in the programme
Off we go. Arrival at Anchorage airport, pick-up of the rental car and drive to the hotel.
The Seward Highway. Driving south on the Seward Highway, between the mountains and Turnagain Arm, stopping at viewpoints along the way. Arrival in Seward, on the Kenai Peninsula.
The Kenai Fjords. A free day. An optional cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park, among tidewater glaciers, whales and sea lions, or the Exit Glacier trail, reachable by car.
Towards Denali. A long day's drive north, back through Anchorage, to Talkeetna, south of Denali National Park. On clear days, views of Denali, the highest peak in North America.
The national park. A drive to the entrance of Denali National Park and check-in at the hotel for two nights. A free afternoon at the visitor centre and on the first trails.
By bus into the park. A bus tour along the park road, 4-6 hours depending on weather and road, with a light lunch, through tundra and mountains in search of grizzlies, moose, caribou and Dall sheep.
Back to the city. Driving south to Anchorage and check-in at the hotel.
End of the trip. Return of the rental car at Anchorage airport.
