Request informationSea and discovery in the south-east of the Dominican Republic, based in Bayahibe, a former fishing village on a coast of calm, clear water. You stay at the Catalonia Bayahibe, or a similar resort, on an all-inclusive basis.
Four days take you beyond the resort. In Los Haitises National Park you cruise among mangroves, green-capped rock islets and caves with ancient Taíno drawings. In Santo Domingo you walk through the Colonial Zone, a UNESCO site, with the first cathedral in the Americas. By boat you head to Isla Catalina for snorkelling and to Isla Saona, with its natural pools and starfish.
All inclusive, private transfers, two private days with a local guide and two shared boat trips.
8 days in the programme
Welcome to the Caribbean. Arrival in the Dominican Republic and private transfer to Bayahibe. Check-in at the resort on an all-inclusive basis.
Slow Caribbean days. A free day between the clear sea, the beach and the resort's activities.
Mangroves and caves. A private day with a local guide. By boat among the mangroves and green-capped rock islets, stopping at caves decorated with ancient Taíno drawings and among the seabirds. Return to Bayahibe.
A free day. A free day: water sports, relaxation or a walk through the village.
The colonial heart. A private day with a local guide in the capital: the cobbled streets of the Colonial Zone, the cathedral, the first in the Americas, the Alcázar de Colón and Calle Las Damas. Lunch at a local restaurant and return to Bayahibe.
A natural aquarium. A boat trip to Isla Catalina, with snorkelling among corals and tropical fish and lunch by the sea. From the water you can see Casa de Campo and the mouth of the Río Chavón.
Natural pools. By catamaran to Isla Saona, in the National Park of the East: palm-fringed beaches and shallow natural pools with starfish. Return to Bayahibe.
End of the trip. A last breakfast overlooking the sea and private transfer to the airport.
