Request informationA journey through the wide open spaces of the West designed for wheelchair users. Every night is in a 3-star property with accessible rooms and bathrooms with grab bars and a roll-in shower, in single, double, triple or quadruple rooms.
It starts in Los Angeles, with Hollywood, Universal Studios and Disneyland, then crosses the desert to Phoenix and climbs to Flagstaff for the Grand Canyon. Lake Powell, with the option of reaching Monument Valley, Zion National Park from Springdale and finally Las Vegas, with an excursion into Death Valley.
The rental car is a standard model and can be fitted with hand controls; driving times and stops are adapted to your needs.
Independent self-drive trip with flights from Italy, a rental car and 10 nights in accessible hotels.
12 days in the programme
From Italy to California. Flight from Italy to Los Angeles. Rental car pick-up and check-in at the hotel.
Hollywood and Universal Studios. A day between the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios, with its rides and studio tour.
Disneyland or the ocean. A choice of Disneyland, in Anaheim, the city's museums, such as the Getty Center, or the pier and seafront at Santa Monica.
To Arizona. Drive east across the desert to Phoenix. Check-in at the hotel.
From desert to pines. North from the saguaro cactus desert to the pine-covered plateaus, with an optional stop among the red rocks of Sedona. Arrival in Flagstaff.
The South Rim. A day at the Grand Canyon's South Rim, among the viewpoints along the edge, such as Mather Point, and the paved sections of the Rim Trail. Return to Flagstaff.
Lake Powell. Drive to Page and Lake Powell, among sandstone canyons and blue water. Option to continue to Monument Valley, with its red rock towers.
Zion National Park. Drive into Utah to Springdale, at the gates of Zion National Park. The park shuttle runs up the main canyon, between rock walls hundreds of metres high.
To Nevada. Drive to Las Vegas and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, the Strip, with its casinos and shows.
The lowest desert. A drive into Death Valley: the Zabriskie Point overlook, the Badwater salt flat, the lowest point in North America, and the Mesquite dunes. Return to Las Vegas.
Flight home. Car drop-off in Las Vegas and flight to Italy. Night on board.
End of the trip. Arrival in Italy.
