Request informationSafari Kenya in a week, with three parks that show its different sides. Amboseli, with its elephant herds and, when the sky is clear, the snowy summit of Kilimanjaro in the background. Lake Nakuru, in the Rift Valley, a refuge for white and black rhinos. And the Masai Mara, East Africa's most famous reserve, where lions and cheetahs hunt on the grasslands and the Great Migration passes through in summer.
Game drives are in a pop-up roof 4x4 equipped with binoculars and charging points, with an English-speaking driver-guide. You stay in 4-star lodges and hotels, with full board on safari days.
We can add a few beach days on the coast, in Watamu or Malindi, or fly back from the Masai Mara to shorten the drives.
8 days in the programme
Airport welcome. Arrival in Nairobi, welcome with maps and travel documents, and transfer to your hotel.
A day in the capital. A day in Nairobi. You can visit the elephant orphanage, where calves who have lost their mothers are cared for, the Giraffe Centre or the house-museum of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa.
First game drive at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Transfer to Amboseli National Park, on the border with Tanzania. In the afternoon, the first game drive among the swamps fed by Kilimanjaro's waters, where large elephant herds gather.
Elephants and the summit of Kilimanjaro. A day of game drives in Amboseli. At dawn, when the clouds part, Kilimanjaro towers over the plain. As well as elephants you see zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, hyenas and lions.
In the Rift Valley, among rhinos and flamingos. Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park, on the floor of the Rift Valley. The park is a sanctuary for white and black rhinos, and the lake attracts flamingos, pelicans and hundreds of other bird species.
Into big cat country. On to the Masai Mara, across hills and highlands. Arrival at the lodge and an afternoon game drive.
A full day of game drives. A full day of game drives in the Masai Mara, among lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and buffalo. From July to October the plains fill with the herds of the Great Migration.
Last game drive and flight home. A dawn game drive and drive back to Nairobi, in time for the airport transfer and your flight home.
