Request informationSouth Africa is one of the best-equipped countries in the world for wheelchair travel, and this itinerary makes the most of it. After a night in Johannesburg you head to Kruger National Park, staying in accessible bungalows and cottages inside the park and going on game drives in search of the Big Five.
Then three nights in a private reserve that cares for orphaned animals and their return to the wild: a different, closer way to get to know African wildlife.
The last part is in Cape Town, with a day of rest after the bush, an excursion to Cape Point and its penguins, and visits around the city. We check every property and every transfer with you, based on your needs.
14 days in the programme
Welcome to South Africa. Arrival in Johannesburg on your flight from Italy, transfer and check-in at accessible accommodation.
Into the savannah. Transfer to Kruger National Park, one of the largest reserves in Africa. Check-in at an accessible bungalow or cottage inside the park.
In search of the Big Five. A day of game drives in the park, looking for lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalo.
Another day in the park. Game drives in another area of the park. Kruger has paved roads and well-equipped camps, making it one of the most accessible parks in Africa.
Your last day in the park. A last day of game drives in Kruger, at the waterholes and along the rivers where wildlife gathers.
Where orphaned animals are cared for. Transfer to a private reserve known for its work with orphaned animals and their return to the wild.
Conservation projects. A day at the reserve: a close look at its rescue projects and the people who work there every day.
Nature at an easy pace. Another day at the reserve, with activities alongside the rangers and free time at the lodge.
From the savannah to the ocean. Transfer to the airport and domestic flight to Cape Town. Check-in at accessible accommodation for the last four nights.
A day of rest. A free day to rest after your days in the bush. The Waterfront, with level walkways and views of Table Mountain, is close at hand.
The tip of the peninsula. An excursion along the peninsula to Cape Point and a visit to the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach, with its wooden boardwalks.
The city and its history. A guided tour of Cape Town, taking in the historic centre, the Company's Gardens and the Bo-Kaap district.
The last views. Final sightseeing nearby, such as the Table Mountain cable car, which is wheelchair accessible. In the evening, transfer to the airport and connecting flight home.
End of the trip. Arrival in Italy.
