Request informationNorthern Thailand travelled entirely by road, with time to stop along the way. After two days in Bangkok you head up to Ayutthaya, then cross Uthai Thani, a province few tourists know, to Sukhothai.
From here you go to Lampang, the town of horse-drawn carriages and of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the finest Lanna-style temples in the north. You arrive in Chiang Mai, where you stay for three nights.
In Chiang Mai there is time for the old town, Doi Suthep, the markets and the surrounding countryside, with the excursions you prefer.

Welcome to Thailand. Arrival in Bangkok and private transfer to your hotel. Free time.
Temples and markets. A day with your guide among the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, the canals of Thonburi and the Pak Khlong Talat flower market.
The old capital. Departure north to Ayutthaya, capital of Siam for four centuries. Afternoon among the temple ruins.
Rural Thailand. Through Uthai Thani province, among rice fields, local markets and the Wat Tha Sung temple. Arrival in Sukhothai.
From the first capital to the Lanna kingdom. Morning in Sukhothai Historical Park. Then Lampang, with a carriage ride and the Wat Phra That Lampang Luang temple. Arrival in Chiang Mai.
The old town and Doi Suthep. A visit to the old town, with Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang, and up to the Doi Suthep temple. In the evening, the night market.
Nature and villages. A day exploring the Chiang Mai area: craft villages, countryside or a visit to an ethical elephant centre, depending on your interests.
End of the tour. Free time until your airport transfer.
