After Tashkent you fly to Nukus, capital of Karakalpakstan, with the Savitsky Museum and its collection of Russian avant-garde art saved from Soviet censorship. Then the mud-brick fortresses of Ayaz Qala and Toprak Qala, in the Khorezm desert, built more than two thousand years ago.
Khiva, the walled city, and the crossing of the red Kyzylkum desert along the Amu Darya to Bukhara, the holy city. On the road to Samarkand, a night in Langar, a village in the Hissar mountains where time seems to stand still, and Shakhrisabz, Tamerlane's birthplace.
It ends in Samarkand, with the Registan and the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum.

Welcome to Uzbekistan. Arrival in Tashkent on your flight from Italy and transfer to the hotel.
The capital. The Khast Imom complex, with one of the oldest Qurans in the world, the Tillya Sheikh mosque, Chorsu bazaar and the Soviet metro stations.
Karakalpakstan. Flight to Nukus, capital of Karakalpakstan, and a visit to the Savitsky Museum.
The desert fortresses. The ruins of Khorezm's mud-brick fortresses, in the desert, with more than two thousand years of history.
The walled city. A day in the Itchan Kala, Khiva's old town, a UNESCO site.
The red desert. A crossing of the Kyzylkum desert, with a stop on the Amu Darya, the ancient Oxus. Arrival in Bukhara.
The wonder of the spirit. The Ark fortress, the Kalon minaret, Lyabi Hauz square and the covered bazaars.
In the Hissar mountains. Departure for the Hissar mountains to the village of Langar, with its mausoleum. Night in the village.
Tamerlane's town. A visit to Shakhrisabz, Tamerlane's birthplace, with the ruins of the Ak-Saray palace. Arrival in Samarkand.
The wonder of the earth. Registan Square, the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and the bazaar.
End of the trip. Transfer to the airport and flight back to Italy.
